Chai Chin Loon is a veteran cybersecurity leader and a DDAS Nexus Advocate, recognised for his long standing contributions to Singapore’s national cyber resilience and digital security landscape.

With decades of experience spanning public sector leadership, technology strategy, and cybersecurity governance, Chin Loon has played a pivotal role in strengthening Singapore’s government cybersecurity capabilities. He previously served as the Government Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO) and Senior Director of the Cyber Security Group at the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), where he led efforts to safeguard government digital infrastructure and citizen data.

Prior to his public sector leadership roles, Chin Loon built extensive industry experience across global technology and consulting organisations, including IBM, Cap Gemini, and A*STAR, where he served as Chief Information Officer. He also served in the Singapore Navy before transitioning into the technology and cybersecurity sector.

Known for advocating a balanced and risk-based approach to cybersecurity, Chin Loon has consistently championed the importance of resilience, usability, and collaboration in securing digital ecosystems. His contributions have extended beyond government through advisory, academic, and community engagements across Singapore’s cybersecurity landscape.

As a DDAS Nexus Advocate, Chin Loon supports DDAS’ mission to advance digital defence awareness and strengthen collective cyber resilience through thought leadership, community engagement, and knowledge sharing.
